# Environments

> Base URLs and key prefixes for the PointZero sandbox and production environments, plus how API versioning and backward compatibility work.

| Environment | Base URL | Keys |

| Sandbox | `https://sandbox.api.pointzero.io/v1` | `sk_test_...` |
| Production | `https://api.pointzero.io/v1` | `sk_live_...` |

Sandbox cards cannot be used for real payments. Objects created in one environment are not visible in the other.

Production access is enabled after your program is approved.

## Versioning

The current API version is `2026-10`. Adding new endpoints, optional request parameters, response fields or enum values is not considered a breaking change. Make sure your integration ignores unknown fields.
